the ol’ fog lights had leaked, and moisture had caused the contacts to rust and the light not to work. I had assumed it would be a bad bulb too, but surprisingly the bulb was fine. took it all apart, sanded all the contacts, cleaned the innards with alcohol (innards of the light, not innards of the Monkey) and dried it all in the oven on low
but honestly, I’m mostly sharing because I am stone cold bored at the office today, so here’s an adorable pic of my kids with their new snowboarding gear to bring some pizzazz to this post
both of these little munchkins were eagerly out in the garage last night helping with the foglights and oil change. I honestly think my daughter could do the oil change by herself by now if she just had the strength.

Now if only it would actually snow! It's 61 and raining right now. In freaking Indiana.

You need to teach daughter about cheater pipes and leverage. It’s also good info for recalcitrant boyfriends lateron.
The only thing needed in the kid pic is the caption “Cowabunga!”

As to contacts, I now use the electronics cleaner (basically a fast drying dielectric brake cleaner) and then a dielectric grease to stop future corrosion for anything that might get wet or needs rejuvenating. The grease is especially good on crappy light bulb sockets that bind on every bulb going into them.

I did grease them well to prevent future issues, fingers crossed
